The college freshman, the teenage phenom Patrick Cantlay is sharing the lead right now with Vaughn Taylor at 8-under. Cantlay is on the 10th hole now.
If Cantlay wins the tournament (early, I know) he would not receive the $1,080,000 first prize, as he is still an amateur. He has said that he wants to finish at UCLA and earn his degree. Noble yes, but if he watches the second-place guy get a check for $1 million, any human being would have to think twice.
