Travelers Championship tournament director Nathan Grube stopped giving out estimated attendances a couple of years ago.
But he did say Sunday's parking lot closed at 11:30 a.m.
"Today was the busiest I've ever seen it since I've been here by far," Grube said. "The lot closed earlier than I have ever seen it close."
The tournament bases numbers on corporate and concession sales as much, or even more, than the actual ticket sales. Best guess is with what Grube said, the tournament is close to the number approximated last year - 240,000.
Travelers' title sponsorship runs through 2014. The insurance company can decide after next year's tournament whether or not to extend it or wait. The tournament will follow the U.S. Open each of the next three years as it has since 2007.
