PERRY PICK PANNING OUT
In my gambling column last week I predicted Kenny Perry would win the Travelers Championship with former Fairfield resident J.J. Henry my second pick.
Perry, who has the talent to win any tournament he competes in, began his first round this afternoon. Through 11 holes he is in a three-way tie for the lead at -7.
Henry is at -4 (66).
Also at -7 are Paul Goydos and Charles Warren who are done for the day.
Colleague Joe Morelli's pre-tournament picks to win were Ben Curtis and Hunter Mahan. Curtis finished his first round at -2 (68) and Mahan is at -4 (66).
